      RIVELITMulti-grip blind rivet

Blind rivets can be used for fast and robust assembly of parts with different thicknesses and made from different materials with access from only one side.
Blank holes or distribute loads.Drip-tight, compensates for flaws.

Rivelit multi-setting blind rivet is a high-performance, permanent fastener. It allows the assembly of several parts.

It is called a “blind” rivet because it allows assembly of parts accessible only from one side of the parts to be joined. The two parts to be joined must be pre-drilled.

It consists of 2 parts: the rivet body and the rivet stem or nail.

      Principles of use :

Setting a blind rivet requires the use of a tool.
This tool can be manual, oleopneumatic or electric, depending on the type of rivet to be set and the type of application.

The blind rivet is inserted into the hole in the parts to be joined. The setting tool pulls the blind rivet stem, deforming the rivet body and stressing the parts and plates to join the parts securely together. When the breaking force is reached, the rivet stem breaks at the break point and is simply discarded.

How to choose the right rivet?

Installing rivets is very easy. To secure success, all you need to do is choose the right rivet.

To do this, you need to ask yourself 4 questions:

      • What should the rivet diameter and rivet body material be ? The hole diameter is directly related to the rivet diameter. The rivet diameter, on the other hand, is determined by the strength required for the application.
      • What nail material do I need ? This will depend on the degree of corrosion resistance recommended.
      • What rivet head do I need ? A countersunk head will enable flush assembly, a flat head will provide the best mechanical resistance, and a wide head is ideal for better distribution of the clamping force and to avoid any deformation of the parts to be assembled. The choice is yours !
      • How long should the rivet be ? It depends on the total thickness to be crimped.

Different head shapes, materials and dimensions:

Rivelit blind rivets are available in flat, wide and countersunk heads with diameters of Ø3.2mm; Ø4.0mm; Ø4.8mm; Ø6.4mm.

      Surface treatments :

We can offer anodized, lacquered and galvanized rivets.

      The following materials are available: Alu/Steel, Alu/Inox, Steel/Steel, Inox/Inox.

NB: The first material indicated is that of the body, the second that of the stem.

      The special features of multi-grrivets:

Multi-grip rivets have the advantage of adapting to different thicknesses at the assembler. This makes them ideal for reducing the number of rivet references to be kept in stock, and for assembling parts with unsuitable holes (wrong dimensions). They also reduce operating errors, as they don’t have to have as precise a drilling diameter as other types of blind rivet. Finally, once riveting has been completed, the rivet body has swollen into the wall of the workpiece hole, and the nail head is enclosed by the envelope of the deformed body, making the rivet watertight and providing good resistance to vibration.

Please note, however, that the mechanical strength of this type of rivet is slightly lower than that of a standard rivet.
