Philips head captive screw TI-PFC2P, also known as captive screws, are a fastening system for thin sheet metal to securely attach outer panels to a target housing.

      Principles of use :

Philips head captive screw TI-PFC2P are easily installed by pressing into punched or drilled holes. Holes require no special preparation, deburring, countersinking or reaming.

All screws feature ends designed for precise positioning in the support sheet. Before assembly, the screw has a certain amount of float to facilitate assembly.

Philips head captive screw TI-PFC2P can be used directly as a complete spring assembly. Once the fasteners are installed, the reverse side of the panel remains smooth.

As its name suggests, the Philips captive head screw has a Philips footprint. Available in steel. Its head is retractable.

These cap screws, as they are sometimes also called, are particularly used in applications where loose or lost screws could cause serious damage, due to their ability to be held in an assembly once it has been dismantled.

Another advantage is that their use also makes it easy to open a panel, avoiding problems such as machine downtime, general maintenance and the need for frequent component replacement. For example, in computer housings, where they enable protective panels to be removed for safe access to the computer’s interior, without the risk of screws falling out.
