Standard crimp nuts : a solution for thin sheet metal

Standard crimp nuts are specifically recommended for providing a strong thread (also known as an internal thread) in thin steel, aluminum and stainless steel sheets. The assembly is durable, with deformation of the sheet metal and not of the insert. The fastener is reliable and resistant to tearing, mechanical stress and vibration, depending on the nature and dimensions of both the insert and the substrate.

      Quick and easy installation

Installation is particularly quick and easy in punched or drilled holes, helping to optimize productivity. Simply apply pressure to crimp the skirt completely into the sheet metal. This can be done using a crimping press, such as Titanox’s T60 and T90 models. It is important to note that the length of the skirt must be less than the thickness of the sheet metal, to ensure optimum hold and avoid deformation of the insert.

Once the nut has been installed on one side, the opposite side remains smooth.

      An extensive range

Available from M2 to M12 in aluminum, steel and stainless steel. Specific surface treatments can be applied to improve nut performance, such as resistance to salt spray.

Standard crimp nuts are also available in reinforced stainless steel. They enable crimping on stainless steel sheet hardness up to 90 HRB.

      A wide range of applications

These Standard crimp nuts are ideal for subcontractors in the sheet metal industry, stamping specialists and metal component manufacturers. The crimping fasteners can be used for a wide range of applications in virtually all industries. These include the medical, electronics and aerospace industries.

All technical information on crimping nuts is available in the Titanox crimping catalog, which can be downloaded from the site.
