VHM and VH light-load retaining rings are manufactured by winding a flat wire, not by stamping.

These spiral lock rings are typically used to lock an assembly in translation. They are often used in fields such as aerospace, automotive, medical technology, agriculture or the oil and gas industry.

Highly reliable, they are unlikely to come apart on their own.

A manufacturing process offering numerous advantages

The manufacturing process for VHM and VH retaining rings offers a number of advantages

Firstly, the product has no stamping burrs, making installation easier as there is no interference with adjacent assembly components.

Secondly, the double-turn ring allows support on a 360° holding surface.

What’s more, the VHM and VH spiral lock rings are unique in that they are single-turn rings designed for light loads and for mounting in a bore.

They are also interchangeable with circlips conforming to international standards such as DIN 971 and DIN 972. An equivalence list can be consulted.

A wide range of VHM and VH retaining rings to suit your needs

The dimensions of the VHM stop ring are in mm. They range from 6 to 3000mm.

By contrast, VH stop ring dimensions are in inches and range from 0.25” to 10”.

Our range of stop rings includes over 6000 standard parts available in carbon steel, 302 or 316 stainless steel. However, if your application has special requirements, specific ring designs are possible, without tooling costs. These changes can include a change in diameter, bending, material used, ring size, finish, ends or even the direction of winding of the stop ring.

Likewise, prototypes can be produced quickly for large or small volume orders. It’s also easy to make adjustments to designs throughout the production process.
